Full Spectrum Therapy and Doula Support in New Orleans

I’m a perinatal therapist and full spectrum doula offering trauma-informed, inclusive, and unbiased care for people navigating the many transitions that come with reproductive health. My work supports folks through pregnancy, birth, postpartum, fertility, loss, menstrual health challenges, and the complex relationship many of us have with our bodies and medical systems.

I offer therapy sessions in-person in New Orleans and virtually throughout Louisiana, and I serve doula clients within an hour of the city. My practice centers people who have historically been left out of reproductive and mental health spaces- especially LGBTQIA+ folks, BIPOC communities, people with disabilities, and bodies of all shapes and sizes- so bring your whole self.

Hi there, I’m Bethany.

Why Full Spectrum?

While doulas of all kinds have existed for as long as humanity, the mainstream recognition of full spectrum doula support began in the mid-2000’s. Grassroots organizations like The Doula Project in New York expanded doula services beyond birth to include support for all pregnancy outcomes- including abortion and pregnancy loss- centering reproductive justice and bodily autonomy.

Today, full spectrum describes inclusive support across the full range of reproductive experiences: fertility, birth, postpartum, miscarriage, abortion, adoption, surrogacy, parenting, and everything in between. At it’s core, full spectrum care holds space for all bodies, all identities, and all choices, with the understanding that there is no single “right” reproductive path.

I bring the full spectrum approach into my own practice by offering both doula support and therapy services, meeting people wherever they are at in their reproductive journeys. My care is trauma-informed, inclusive, and unbiased, helping clients navigate reproductive experiences beyond pregnancy and parenthood. I honor each person’s choices, identities, and stories, while creating a safe space to help them connect with their bodies.
